SUMMARY:White Wall Cinema: CASQUE D'OR
DESCRIPTION:JACQUES BECKER’S 4K REMASTER\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n \n\n\n\n\n\nUndoubtedly one of the greatest films in all of French cinema — and boasting a perfect 100% score on Rotten Tomatoes — Casque d’Or stands as a cornerstone of the work of the great French filmmaker Jacques Becker.\n\n\n\n\nThe celebrated wave of American cinema now known as New Hollywood — Bonnie and Clyde\, The Graduate\, and so many others that reshaped modern filmmaking — was itself inspired by the French New Wave and figures like Jean-Luc Godard\, Agnès Varda\, and Jacques Demy. But where did they find their inspiration? Becker\, belonging to the generation before them\, was perhaps the director the New Wave revered most deeply. François Truffaut in particular held Becker’s work — and Casque d’Or above all — in the highest regard\, and with good reason. \n\n\n\nSet during La Belle Époque and loosely based on a true story\, Casque d’Or follows Marie (Simone Signoret)\, a Parisian prostitute and gangster’s moll\, who falls in love with Manda (Serge Reggiani)\, a reformed criminal trying to start anew. Their passion\, however\, soon draws them into a violent clash with Marie’s former lover and his dangerous underworld syndicate. \n\n\n\nA loving recreation of its period\, the film combines lyrical beauty with emotional depth and features wonderfully nuanced performances — most notably from Simone Signoret\, whose radiant and defiant portrayal of Marie became so iconic that it even graced a French postage stamp. Casque d’Or remains one of cinema’s greatest tragic love stories and a landmark achievement from one of France’s finest directors at the height of his powers. \n\n\n\nAs François Truffaut wrote: \n\n\n\n“Casque d’Or\, sometimes funny\, sometimes tragic\, finally proves that by a refined use of a shift in tone\, one can surpass parody\, look upon a picturesque and bloody past\, and resurrect it with tenderness and violence.” \n\n\n\n\nDOORS: 7pm*\n\n\n\nSTART TIME: 7.30pm*\n\n\n\nRUN TIME: 98 mins\n\n\n\nLANGUAGE: French w/ English Subtitles\n\n\n\nCERT: 12A (Under 16s must be accompanied by an adult)\n\n\n\n\n*Please note – doors open at 7.00pm\, Please try to allow extra time to get seated prior to the performance start time of 7.30pm. SUMMARY:White Wall Cinema: SHOWGIRLS
DESCRIPTION:PAUL VERHOEVEN’S – 4K REMASTER – 30TH ANNIVERSARY\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n \n\n\n\n\n\nLet’s start here: Showgirls is\, without question\, the most fun you can possibly have in a cinema. But it’s also\, let’s be honest\, a masterpiece. Directed by the legendary Dutch provocateur Paul Verhoeven — the man behind RoboCop\, Total Recall\, Starship Troopers\, Basic Instinct\, and more recently Elle and Benedetta — Verhoeven is no stranger to both criticism and controversy.. \n\n\n\n\nUpon its 1995 release\, Showgirls was almost universally panned by critics\, dismissed as vulgar\, exploitative\, and downright terrible. But once the (frankly puritanical) outrage subsided\, something fascinating happened: audiences started to reappraise it. What began as mockery evolved into cult worship. Viewers and critics alike began to suspect what\, in hindsight\, seems obvious given Verhoeven’s career — Showgirls isn’t just a really bad movie; it’s a really bad movie on purpose. \n\n\n\nBeneath its camp excess — the wooden dialogue\, cringe-inducing performances\, and spectacularly unsexy sex scenes — lies a razor-sharp satire of the American psyche. Just as RoboCop skewered corporate greed and automation\, and Starship Troopers lampooned the U.S. military-industrial complex and it’s imperialist desires\, Showgirls turns its glittering knives on America’s obsession with commodification\, objectification\, and that ever-elusive ideal: the American Dream — which\, of course\, is simply to be rich. \n\n\n\nA true\, (deliberate) “disasterpiece” from one of cinema’s great satirists\, Showgirls is both an unhinged\, wildly enjoyable ride and a biting critique of American ambition. It’s a film that has to be seen to be believed — and even then\, you might not quite believe it. Dismiss it as shallow trash at your peril. Showgirls is as adventurous\, invigorating\, important\, and outrageously entertaining as American cinema gets — and as honest about America as any film ever made. \n\n\n\n\nDOORS: 6.50pm*\n\n\n\nSTART TIME: 7.20pm*\n\n\n\nRUN TIME: 131 mins\n\n\n\nCERT: 18\n\n\n\n\n*Please note – doors open at 6.50pm\, Please try to allow extra time to get seated prior to the performance start time of 7.20pm. SUMMARY:White Wall Cinema: ROBOT DREAMS
DESCRIPTION:*Please note – doors open at 7.00pm\, Please try to allow extra time to get seated prior to the performance start time of 7.30pm. There will usually be no admittance from 20 minutes after the films stated start time. No hot food or alcohol from outside the premises is allowed. All alcoholic drinks consumed on the premises must be purchased from the bar as per the conditions of the venue’s licence \n\n\n\n\n\nWith a thoroughly deserved 98% on Rotten Tomatoes\, Pablo Berger’s Oscar-nominated Robot Dreams is\, without a doubt\, one of the most tender and touching films in recent memory. Unlike any animated film you’ve ever seen\, its beautifully crafted\, pop-coloured world and deceptively simple storytelling unfold into a masterful\, gorgeously wistful tale of love\, friendship\, loss\, and hope — one we truly can’t recommend enough for big screen viewing.\n\n\n\n\nSet in 1980s Manhattan\, the story follows Dog\, a solitary figure navigating life in the big city. One day\, after seeing a television advert\, he orders and assembles a robotic companion. What follows is the blossoming of a beautiful friendship\, as Dog introduces Robot to the wonders of New York. They become inseparable — until one fateful summer evening\, a malfunction forces Dog to make an impossible decision. Will they ever find their way back to each other? \n\n\n\nThis bittersweet tragi-comedy is an ode to loneliness and the quiet resilience needed to overcome it. It’s a poetic meditation on connection\, memory\, and hope. Eschewing the usual tropes of exploring ‘evil AI’ or ironic humour that plague so many animated features\, Robot Dreams offers instead a profoundly human story — one that earns its place among the most affecting pieces of cinema ever made. \n\n\n\nAt once achingly melancholic and radiantly hopeful\, it’s a film that will stay with you long after the credits roll — and you’ll never hear Earth\, Wind & Fire’s “September” the same way again. \n\n\n\n\nDOORS 7pm*\n\n\n\nSCREENING START TIME: 7.30pm*\n\n\n\nFILM RUN TIME: 102mins\n\n\n\nCERT: PG (Under 16s must be accompanied by an adult)\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nTickets & More Info

SUMMARY:White Wall Cinema: DEEP RED
DESCRIPTION:LATE EVENING HALLOWEEN SCREENING\n\n\n\nDARIO ARGENTO – 50TH ANNIVERSARY / 4K RESTORATION\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n*Please note – doors open at 9.35pm\, Please try to allow extra time to get seated prior to the performance start time of 10.00pm. There will usually be no admittance from 20 minutes after the films stated start time. No hot food or alcohol from outside the premises is allowed. All alcoholic drinks consumed on the premises must be purchased from the bar as per the conditions of the venue’s licence \n\n\n\n\n\nDario Argento — the wonderfully deranged Italian horror maestro behind genre-defining classics like Suspiria\, Tenebrae\, and The Bird with the Crystal Plumage — brings us what many fans consider his greatest work\, and the ultimate giallo film: Deep Red. Celebrating its 50th anniversary\, this special late-evening screening on Halloween night\n\n\n\n\nLate one evening\, while wandering the streets of Rome\, English jazz pianist Marcus Daly (David Hemmings — Blow-Up\, Gladiator) witnesses a brutal axe murder through the window of a high-rise apartment. Rushing to the scene in an attempt to catch the killer\, Marcus finds he’s already too late… or is he? What unfolds is a deliciously twisted mystery that draws both Marcus and eccentric journalist Gianna Brezzi (Daria Nicolodi) into a surreal web of murder\, memory\, and misdirection. \n\n\n\nDeep Red is a hyper-stylised noir drenched in Argento’s signature aesthetic — with arguably the most dazzling cinematography of his entire career\, all underscored by a pulsing\, prog-rock soundtrack from his legendary collaborators\, Goblin. Released at the height of Italy’s giallo craze — a movement defined by stylish\, violent murder mysteries — Deep Red features some of the most inventive and shocking set-pieces in all of horror cinema. While Suspiria (made directly after this) may be Argento’s most famous film\, Deep Red\, presented here in a gorgeous new 4K restoration of it’s full length original cut\, is widely considered his crowning achievement\, where his cinematic trademarks are at their most refined and ferociously imaginative. \n\n\n\nJoin us for this terrifying late-night screening — or make a full night of it with a discounted joint ticket for our earlier showing of Guillermo del Toro’s Crimson Peak\, for a Halloween double bill soaked in blood-red horror and lavish\, scarlet-tinged spookiness. \n\n\n\n\nDOORS: 9.35pm*\n\n\n\nSTART TIME: 10pm*\n\n\n\nRUN TIME: 127 mins\n\n\n\nLANGUAGE: English + some Italian w/English Subtitles\n\n\n\nCERT: 18\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nTickets & More Info

Drawing on inspirations such as The Haunting\, The Innocents & The Shining\, Del Toro’s signature lavish production design and richly detailed aesthetic are on full display in this director-approved 4K transfer — a version that absolutely deserves to be experienced on the big screen. Within the film’s grand and hauntingly beautiful sets\, flashes of grotesque horror and moments of genuine spookiness emerge\, creating one of the most chilling and visually arresting pieces of cinema in recent memory. \n\n\n\nSet in the 1880s\, the story follows aspiring writer Edith Cushing (Mia Wasikowska)\, who is haunted by the ghostly memory of her mother. When she falls for the enigmatic Sir Thomas Sharpe (Tom Hiddleston)\, he whisks her away from Buffalo\, New York\, to his ancestral home\, Allerdale Hall — a crumbling Gothic mansion built atop blood-red clay in the remote English countryside. But the decaying estate seems to possess a sinister life of its own. As Edith tries to adjust to her unsettling new home\, she soon suspects that Thomas and his cold\, mysterious sister\, Lady Lucille Sharpe (Oscar winner Jessica Chastain)\, may be hiding dark and terrible secrets. A true masterpiece of decadent design and gothic storytelling\, Crimson Peak is unmissable this Halloween. \n\n\n\nCatch it in our special early evening screening — or make a night of it with a discounted joint ticket for our late-session showing of Dario Argento’s Deep Red\, for a back-to-back Halloween double bill drenched in blood-red horror and scarlet-tinged spookiness. \n\n\n\n\nDOORS: 6.30pm*\n\n\n\nSTART TIME: 6.55pm*\n\n\n\nRUN TIME: 119 mins\n\n\n\nCERT: 15 (Under 16s must be accompanied by an adult)\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nTickets & More Info

While in Venice\, where John has been commissioned to restore one of the city’s churches\, Laura encounters a pair of sisters who claim to have made contact with the couple’s deceased child. DESCRIPTION: 40TH ANNIVERSARY \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n \n\n\n\n\n\nA totally unexpected approach to the cold war thriller\, White Nights pirouettes into an entirely different category by utilising the electrifying pairing of Mikhail Baryshnikov and Gregory Hines—two of the greatest dancers of the 20th century\, each with wildly different styles\, lighting up the screen together in a film that fuses political tension with jaw-dropping artistry.\n\n\n\n\nWhether you’re a fan of 80s pop culture\, Cold War thrillers\, or simply want to see two of the greatest performers of all time at the peak of their powers\, join us as the nights begin to draw in—and\, in fact\, on the very day the clocks go back (so don’t forget to adjust your watch!)— to delve into this unexpected piece of 80s ephemera named after a Leningrad (now Saint Petersburg) phenomenon: the ‘White Nights’—those magical\, and somewhat eerie summer days when the sun never fully sets… \n\n\n\nCelebrating its 40th anniversary\, White Nights comes from director Taylor Hackford director of An Officer and a Gentleman\, The Devil’s Advocate\, Ray). This Cold War thriller follows Nikolai (Mikhail Baryshnikov)\, a world-famous Russian-American ballet dancer whose plane makes an emergency landing in Siberia. Recognised as a defector\, he’s taken into custody by Soviet authorities and placed under house arrest. \n\n\n\nWhile White Nights works as a enjoyably gripping 1980s Cold War thriller\, what truly sets it apart is its remarkable pairing of two dance legends: Gregory Hines and Mikhail Baryshnikov. Their talents are showcased in White Nights to breathtaking effect\, with choreography by the legendary Twyla Tharp. Every dance sequence is a visual and emotional feast—electrifying\, athletic\, and deeply expressive. SUMMARY:White Wall Cinema: TEEN WOLF
DESCRIPTION:40TH ANNIVERSARY\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n \n\n\n\n\n\nJust over a month after Back to the Future smashed box office records\, 1985’s hottest property\, Michael J. Fox\, returned to the big screen in this iconic ’80s teen comedy. In Teen Wolf\, Fox plays Scott Howard—an average\, unlucky-in-love teenager and hopeless high school basketball player—whose body starts going through some… unusual changes… it quickly becomes apparent that this is more than just an aggressive case of puberty. Discovering and revealing your identity as a werewolf is hard enough—but try doing it while trying to impress the popular girl and win the big game\n\n\n\n\nEndlessly silly\, proudly escapist\, and unapologetically ’80s\, this high school coming-of-age comedy leans fully into its joyously thin plot and delightfully hokey werewolf premise. Teen Wolf aims squarely for fun\, but also flashes a sly satirical edge beneath its gloriously daft exterior. A spirited B-movie at heart\, Teen Wolf was elevated to box office success thanks to its charming and talented lead. Made for just $4 million\, the film grossed over $80 million\, debuting at No. 2 at the box office—second only to (you guessed it) Back to the Future. \n\n\n\nWhile the 1980s delivered a slew of iconic teen films—from The Breakfast Club and Ferris Bueller’s Day Off to Fast Times at Ridgemont High and Say Anything— it was Teen Wolf that broke new ground by popularizing the supernatural high school teen. paving the way for the likes of The Lost Boys\, Sabrina the Teenage Witch\, Buffy the Vampire Slayer\, Twilight\, Jennifer’s Body\, and Warm Bodies. Not only that this irresistible premise\, spawned a sequel—the brilliantly titled Teen Wolf Too\, with Jason Bateman replacing Fox—an animated ’80s TV series\, and a darker\, a 2010s TV reboot (which even got its own movie). Teen Wolf has undoubtedly cemented its place in pop culture history and remains a deeply enjoyable\, throwaway gem that howls(!) with nostalgia in every scene. \n\n\n\n\n\nDOORS: 7.30pm*\n\n\n\nSTART TIME: 8.10pm*\n\n\n\nRUN TIME: 92 mins\n\n\n\nCERT: PG (Under 16’s must be accompanied by an adult).\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nTickets & More Info\n\n\n\n\n\n\n*Please note – doors open at 7.30pm\, Please try to allow extra time to get seated prior to the performance start time of 8.10pm. SUMMARY:White Wall Cinema: PANIC ROOM
DESCRIPTION:One of the world’s most beloved directors\, David Fincher cemented his status as perhaps the defining filmmaker of the late 1990s to early 2010s with an unprecedented run of films that included Se7en\, Fight Club\, Zodiac\, The Social Network\, and Gone Girl—all of which earned widespread critical acclaim and box office success. But with such high-profile triumphs often comes overlooked gems\, in this case Fincher’s taut 2002 thriller was buried in the hype of the monumental\, zeitgeist-defining impact of his previous film Fight Club.\n\n\n\n\nNow\, in 2025—freed from the burden of being “the follow up to Fight Club”—Panic Room re-emerges in this long-awaited\, brand-new 4K remaster\, revealing itself as a hugely entertaining\, heart-pounding home invasion thriller. Fincher perfectly utilises the twin talents of the legendary Jodie Foster (The Silence of the Lambs\, Nell) in one of her finest roles\, and a pre-Twilight Kristen Stewart as a newly divorced mother and daughter who\, upon moving into a Manhattan brownstone\, are bemused to discover it contains a state-of-the-art panic room—an impenetrable safe space designed for emergencies. Little do they know they’re about to need it\, as three masked intruders (Forest Whitaker\, Jared Leto\, and Dwight Yoakam) violently break in during the dead of night. \n\n\n\nCombining Fincher’s signature glossy dread with a lesser-appreciated Hitchcockian flair\, Panic Room is a masterclass in spatial tension\, with characters maneuverer like pawns in a high-stakes game of psychological chess. Touching on themes as varied as gender\, feminism\, surveillance\, mortality\, domesticity\, race\, real estate\, and ecological anxiety\, it’s as intelligent as it is nerve-shredding—a rare thriller that makes existential dread feel thrillingly enjoyable. \n\n\n\nJoin us for a special screening of the brand-new 4K remaster as spooky season kicks off in style. \n\n\n\n\n\nDOORS: 7pm*\n\n\n\nSTART TIME: 7.40pm*\n\n\n\nRUN TIME: 112 mins\n\n\n\nCERT: 15 (Under 16s must be accompanied by an adult)\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nTickets & More Info\n\n\n\n\n\n\n*Please note – doors open at 7.00pm\, Please try to allow extra time to get seated prior to the performance start time of 7.40pm. SUMMARY:White Wall Cinema: RED ROCKET
DESCRIPTION:Just before creating Anora—his Palme d’Or and Best Picture Oscar-winning triumph—Sean Baker delivered what we believe is the funniest\, most insightful\, and most entertaining film of his career. While Anora and acclaimed titles like The Florida Project and Tangerine (yes\, the one shot on an iPhone) have justifiably earned him a place among the most exciting voices in American cinema\, it’s Red Rocket that deserves more attention.\n\n\n\n\nThe film tells the story of Mikey Saber\, a washed-up adult film actor\, con artist\, and all-around hustler who returns to his South Texas hometown after 17 years. Barely tolerated by the locals who remember him\, Mikey embarks on a chaotic journey fueled by charm\, manipulation\, and a string of increasingly poor decisions that make for a concerning yet compelling rollercoaster journey through America at ground level. \n\n\n\nRed Rocket (like Baker’s other works) raises hard questions about the American dream\, through its darkly humorous sensibilities\, and its staggeringly beautiful cinematography\, add to that an electrifying and exceptionally clever performance from Simon Rex\, and Baker has created one of the most surprising movies of recent years. For our money\, the critical acclaim and awards showered on Anora could just as easily have gone to Red Rocket—perhaps Baker’s most daring\, thought-provoking\, and masterfully executed film to date. \n\n\n\nA joy to watch on the big screen\, *This screening will also be followed by an optional and informal post film discussion group.* \n\n\n\n\n\nDOORS: 7pm*\n\n\n\nSTART TIME: 7.30pm*\n\n\n\nRUN TIME: 128 mins\n\n\n\nCERT: 18\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nTickets & More Info\n\n\n\n\n\n\n*Please note – doors open at 7.00pm\, Please try to allow extra time to get seated prior to the performance start time of 7.30pm. SUMMARY:White Wall Cinema: BEST IN SHOW
DESCRIPTION:25TH ANNIVERSARY\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n*Please note – doors open at 7.40pm\, Please try to allow extra time to get seated prior to the performance start time of 8.00pm. There will usually be no admittance from 20 minutes after the films stated start time. No hot food or alcohol from outside the premises is allowed. All alcoholic drinks consumed on the premises must be purchased from the bar as per the conditions of the venue’s licence. \n\n\n\n\n\nIn the wake of This Is Spinal Tap\, co-writer and Tap lead guitarist Christopher Guest (aka Nigel Tufnel) went on to create a string of similarly brilliant ‘mockumentaries’ over the next four decades. Reuniting a recurring troupe of improvisational comedy legends—virtually a who’s who of the genre—Guest crafted modern classics like Waiting for Guffman\, A Mighty Wind\, For Your Consideration\, and Mascots. Now\, with Guest returning to Spinal Tap for a long-awaited sequel\, we think it’s the perfect time to celebrate what may be the finest of all his works (Tap included!)—with this special 25th anniversary screening of the almighty Best in Show.\n\n\n\n\nRather than chronicling the misadventures of a washed-up rock band\, Best in Show shifts focus to the world of competitive dog lovers as they descend on the prestigious Mayflower Kennel Club Dog Show (a hilariously deadpan spoof of America’s answer to Crufts). An eccentric cast of characters converges on the canine competition\, and what unfolds is a loving\, sharply observed\, and wildly funny portrait of a uniquely obsessive subculture. From neurotic yuppies with a dog in therapy to a folksy Southern man with ventriloquist dreams\, no satirical stone is left unturned in this laugh-a-minute comedy gem. \n\n\n\nThis pitch-perfect parody is driven by a magnificent ensemble cast\, including: Jennifer Coolidge (Legally Blonde\, The White Lotus)\, John Michael Higgins (A Mighty Wind\, For Your Consideration)\, Michael Hitchcock (A Mighty Wind\, Glee) Eugene Levy (American Pie\, Schitt’s Creek)\, Jane Lynch (Glee\, The 40-Year-Old Virgin)\, Michael McKean (Spinal Tap\, Better Call Saul)\, Catherine O’Hara (Beetlejuice\, Schitt’s Creek)\, Parker Posey (Dazed & Confused\, The White Lotus) & Guest himself (Spinal Tap\, The Princess Bride). And of course\, the late\, great Fred Willard\, whose improvisational turn as the dog show’s clueless commentator has since become the stuff of comedy legend. \n\n\n\nArguably the funniest mockumentary ever made\, Best in Show directly influenced an entire generation of TV comedy—from The Office and Parks & Recreation to Modern Family. We’re thrilled to bring it back to the big screen in all its glory for this unmissable 25th anniversary celebration. \n\n\n\n\n\nDOORS: 7.20pm*\n\n\n\nSTART TIME: 8pm*\n\n\n\nRUN TIME: 90 mins\n\n\n\nCERT: 12 (Under 16s must be accompanied by an adult)\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nTickets & More Info

SUMMARY:White Wall Cinema: THE GREAT GATSBY (1974)
DESCRIPTION:100TH ANNIVERSARY OF GATSBY\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n*Please note – doors open at 6.30pm for fizz in the garden. Please try to allow extra time to get seated prior to the performance start time of 7.40pm. There will usually be no admittance from 20 minutes after the films stated start time. No hot food or alcohol from outside the premises is allowed. All alcoholic drinks consumed on the premises must be purchased from the bar as per the conditions of the venue’s licence. \n\n\n\n\n\nWhite Wall Cinema returns for the first event of it’s new season (and our 10th year) with a screening marking 100 years of F. Scott Fitzgerald’s much celebrated iconic novel The Great Gatsby. We will also be throwing a small garden party before with a free glass of fizz (because what would Gatsby’s 100th birthday be without it?)\n\n\n\n\nInfamously tricky to bring to the screen\, the 1974 adaptation is perhaps the most faithful to Fitzgerald’s novel\, while wisely becoming its own distinct cinematic vision. Scripted by Francis Ford Coppola (of The Godfather\, Apocalypse Now\, and more)\, reworking an earlier draft by Truman Capote\, and directed by Jack Clayton (Room at the Top\, The Innocents)\, this version plays Gatsby as a kind of ghost story. \n\n\n\nA world away from Baz Luhrmann’s brash and violently lurid 2013 take\, this 1974 film is all billowing curtains\, haunted silences\, and humid\, regret-laden tension\, draped in authentically lavish sets\, rich period detail\, and gorgeous opulent  Oscar winning costumes — with a dazzling cast to match. \n\n\n\nStill a byword for the glittering allure of the Jazz Age\, a century after its publication\, this version of The Great Gatsby properly explores the dark compulsive contradictions of American wealth\, fantasy\, and delusion. So join us — for a glass of fizz and a hauntingly beautiful film — to mark 100 years of Fitzgerald’s enduring masterpiece. After all\, no one throws a party like Gatsby… do they\, old sport? \n\n\n\n\n\nDOORS\, DRINKS FROM: 6.30pm*\n\n\n\nSCREENING START TIME: 7.40pm*\n\n\n\nFILM RUN TIME: 146mins\n\n\n\nCERT: 12A (Under 16s must be accompanied by an adult)\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nTickets & More Info

SUMMARY:White Wall Cinema: VHS FEST NIGHT 3 - COCKTAIL
DESCRIPTION:Join us for VHS Fest\, a special three night film festival celebrating films that represent the classic era of VHS video.  Each night you can take a stroll through our life size VHS rental store\, indulge in some retro gaming\, have a drink in our beer garden (with our VHS era playlist) and then enjoy a cult classic film from the era on the big screen. Tickets for individual nights are available as well as a discounted festival ticket for all three nights (nights two and three revealed soon). \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n \n\n\n\n\n\nNight Three: Hot on the heels of two breakthrough performances in Tony Scott’s Top Gun and Scorsese’s The Color of Money\, and right before what is likely the most unprecedented unbroken run of successful (either financially or critically) movies in cinema history that would last until present day\, Cruise graced this popcorn classic with the presence of mega-star. Transforming what was essentially a b-movie into a box office smash that would take in nearly nine times it’s own budget at the box office. \n\n\n\nWhen young Brian Flanagan (Tom Cruise) is discharged from the army he dreams of making it big in business in New York City\, despite taking the right classes and applying for the right jobs he is repeatedly rejected until in desperation he stumbles upon veteran bartender Doug Coughlin (an unforgettable Bryan Brown) and accepts a job in order to make ends meet. Eventually hatching a scheme to start his own bar by making in money bartending in Jamaica he falls into a whirlwind romance with an American artist Jordan Mooney (Elisabeth Shue) holidaying at the resort as darker storm clouds begin to gather over his life\, love and dreams.  \n\n\n\nA movie that created an entire generation of bartenders\, Cocktail is a flashy\, funny and sometimes dark comic book coming of age fantasy that reflects the changing tides of the era. A fascinating study of how the charm of the yuppie dream was beginning to fade\, Tom Cruise plays it braggadocious and cocky before craftily deploying his trademark earnestness. \n\n\n\n\nDOORS: 6.30pm*\n\n\n\nSTART TIME: 6.30pm*\n\n\n\nLAST ADMISSION BEFORE FILM: 8pm\n\n\n\nFILM RUN TIME: 103 mins\n\n\n\nFILM CERT: 15\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nTickets & More Info

All in all it’s a fabulous excuse for Arnie to charge around the roads and shopping malls of upstate California as well as the Island hide-out of a Latin American dictator\, reeking havoc with large guns (both the human flesh kind and the mechanical kind) whilst uttering ludicrously funny quips. Extremely dated and extremely entertaining this is the epitome of the non franchise 80s actioner that was such a staple of the era.  \n\n\n\nHelmed by cult director Mark Lester (The Class of 1984\, Firestarter\, the latter being THE key influence on Stranger Things) and during Arnie’s unprecedented hot streak sandwiched between The Terminator and Predator\, Commando is everything you could want from an Arnie movie and more. With endless one liners\, a penchant for 80s action movie outfits (bicep revealing vests\, denim dungarees\, camo\, chainmail & leather trousers) and explosions bigger than Arnie’s pecs\, this is the perfect Saturday night VHS Fest choice. When a newly divorced mother and two sons move to the coastal locale\, it’s only a matter of time until the town’s local teen vampire biker gang attempt to recruit one of the family. It’s then up to younger brother Sam and his two friends from the local comic book store to save the day.\n\n\n\nCampy\, gothic and cool with a rocking 80s soundtrack\, The Lost Boys is a key touchstone of 80s pop culture and still the best teen screen vampire gang ever assembled (apologies to Twilight & Buffy). The stacked cast of 80s icons include Corey Feldman\, Corey Haim\, Kiefer Sutherland\, & Dianne Wiest (on the verge of winning her Oscar) all under the spell of ace cinematography from Michael Chapman\, who by this point in his career had already shot Taxi Driver\, Raging Bull and the iconic Michael Jackson ‘Bad’ music video for Martin Scorsese (not to mention Paul Schrader’s ‘Hardcore’ \, Hal Ashby’s ‘The Last Detail’ the 70s Invasion of The Bodysnatchers remake).  Imbued with director Joel Schumacher’s bold\, vividly coloured visual style\, ace production design and frenetic energy\, it deserves nothing less than to be enjoyed on the big screen in this new 4K remaster.     \n\n\n\nThe iconic teenage horror comedy is fun from start to finish and the perfect way to kick off a weekend of VHS classics. \n\n\n\n\nDOORS: 7pm*\n\n\n\nSTART TIME: 7pm*\n\n\n\nLAST ADMISSION: 8.40pm\n\n\n\nFILM RUN TIME: 97 mins\n\n\n\nCERT: 15 \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nTickets & More Info

Doors for this event are 7pm when we will be starting the evening off early with drinks and a DJ playing a selection of mid 60s to early 70s tunes to get you in the mood in our beer garden. \n\n\n\n\n\nPerhaps the most remarkable acting performance in a biopic in the history of cinema\, the recently departed Val Kilmer truly embodies the legendary Doors frontman Jim Morrison in this sensational new cut and 4k remaster\, from renowned director Oliver Stone.\n\n\n\n\nAlready a voice of cinematic counter culture writing such scripts as Midnight Express and Scarface\, as a director Stone would re-define Americas vision of itself through popular cinema\, documenting key moments in the countries checkered history with films like Salvador\, Platoon\, Wall Street\, Born on the Fourth of July\, JFK\, Natural Born Killers and more. The Doors sits right in the centre of this legendary run of cinematic masterpieces and captures all sides of the mythology of a cultural icon who has perhaps more than anybody else come to define our understanding of the word ‘ rockstar’.  \n\n\n\n\nA true ode to the 60s and The Lizard King that sat atop it\, this spectacularly entertaining kaleidoscopic journey through the era is underpinned by Kilmer’s breathtakingly uncanny performance and aided by an exceptional supporting cast that includes Meg Ryan (When Harry Met Sally…)\, Kyle MacLachlan (Twin Peaks\, Blue Velvet) Frank Whaley (Field Of Dreams)\, Michael Madsen (Reservoir Dogs\, Kill Bill 1&2)\, and even a real life rock star in Billy Idol.  \n\n\n\nSpectacular concert scenes\, brilliant production design recreations of legendary 60s locations and Stone’s trademark lyrical version of history all add up to an intoxicating thrill-ride through the short but eventful life of Morrison that absolutely demands big screen viewing thanks to Stone’s highly cinematic eye and Kilmer’s astonishing performance. \n\n\n\n\n\n\nDOORS\, DRINKS\, DJS FROM: 6.30pm*\n\n\n\nSTART TIME: 8.10pm*\n\n\n\nRUN TIME: 138 mins\n\n\n\nCERT: 18\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nTickets & More Info

SUMMARY:White Wall Cinema: DESPERATELY SEEKING SUSAN
DESCRIPTION:40TH ANNIVERSARY\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nCelebrating 17 years of Brighton’s favourite 80s party and the city’s longest running weekly club night (Every Saturday at Green Door Store) ‘It Is Still 1985’ is marking both their own longevity and the fact that the year they are named after (1985) is now exactly 40 years ago by teaming up with us at White Wall Cinema to create a new movie club for 2025 that screens a selection of movies celebrating their 40th anniversary on a limited number of select dates across this year.\n\n\n\nA bonafide member of the first wave of American 80s-era independent filmmakers\, Susan Siedelman was just coming down from the success of her first film ‘Smithereens’ (the first American independent film to be selected for competition at Canne) a gritty and humorous look at New York’s Bohemian post-punk music scene\, when she stumbled upon her next film and truly captured pop culture lightning in a bottle. Against the studios wishes she refused a who’s who list of stars lined up for the film’s lead roles opting instead to cast two unknowns in the shape of Rosanna Arquette and Siedelman’s neighbour at the time Madonna. Arquette of course would go on to be a major movie star (credits include Scorsese’s After Hours\, Besson’s The Big Blue\, Tarantino’s Pulp Fiction and Cronenberg’s Crash) but it was Madonna\, still exuding the hyper cool of New York street fashion\, cool in a way that only a newly minted popstar on the verge of mega-fame can be\, that set audiences alight in 1985.  \n\n\n\n\nDOORS: 7.50pm*\n\n\n\nSTART TIME: 8.30pm*\n\n\n\nRUN TIME: 104 mins\n\n\n\nCERT: 15 (Under 16’s must be accompanied by an adult).\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nTickets & More Info

SUMMARY:White Wall Cinema: THE FRENCH CONNECTION
DESCRIPTION:Winner of 5 Oscars including Best Picture\, Best Director and Best Actor for the late great Gene Hackman (Unforgiven\, Mississippi Burning\, The Conversation\, The Royal Tenenbaums) we pay tribute to this titan of the acting world at the peak of his powers. Extraordinarily directed by the also recently departed William Friedkin\, the no-nonsense genius who also gave us classics like The Exorcist\, The Boys In The Band\, Cruising\, To Live and Die in L.A. and Sorcerer\, The French Connection is a landmark film featuring a towering performance from Hackman and the best car chase sequence ever committed to celluloid.\n\n\n\nWhen rough and tumble cop Jimmy ‘Popeye’ Doyle (Hackman) and his partner Buddy ‘Cloudy’ Russo (Roy Scheider – Jaws) stumble upon a narcotics ring in early 70s New York the obsessive Doyle sets about busting it up and taking down the smugglers bringing in heroine from Marseille. Realistic\, fast-paced and uncommonly smart it ushered in a new gritty era of cinema that would lead to the greatest ever era of American films. \n\n\n\nRepeatedly listed in the American film institutes top 100 movies of all time\, this neo-noir masterpiece has influenced everyone from Akira Kurosawa to Steven Spielberg to David Fincher. Garnering more than 20+ major film awards (including the aforementioned 5 Oscars) The French Connection is a keystone of American cinematic culture and a big screen must for movie fans of all stripes\, as well as being a fitting tribute to one of America’s greatest all-time screen actors\, Gene Hackman. \n\n\n\n\nDOORS: 7.30pm\n\n\n\nSTART TIME: 8.10pm\n\n\n\nRUN TIME: 104 mins\n\n\n\nCERT: 18\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nTickets & More Info

SUMMARY:White Wall Cinema: DIDI
DESCRIPTION:The trick of Sean Wang’s brilliant debut film Didi is that it is both a coming of age movie for anyone who’s ever been a teenager\, as well as being a deeply accurate portrait of what it was like for the first generation that grew up online. In what feels like a spiritual sequel to Jonah Hill’s ‘Mid90s’ and a prequel to Bo Burnham’s ‘Eighth Grade’\, 2008 is depicted with heartfelt and deadly accuracy as young Didi grows up in a world of Facebook & MySpace whilst still facing the timeless agonies of being a teenager.\n\n\n\nSublimely written and performed\, Didi boasts a brilliant lead in the shape of its young lead Izaac Wang\, who must learn to navigate the tricky teenage questions of understanding your cultural identity\, how to flirt with girls\, how to skateboard\, and how to get along with your mother\, (played here beautifully by the marvellous Joan Chen of Twin Peaks fame). \n\n\n\nLiving with his sister\, mother and (the director’s own real-life) grandmother\, Didi’s life reflects both a highly personal statement from director Sean Wang\, but also an extraordinarily moving and universal portrait of the joy and chaos of being 13 whilst trying to be cool. Tender\, funny\, and painful Wang’s film is a triumphant and definitive portrait of a very recent bygone era that gives us a wonderfully salient insight into the past\, the present and the future of teenage life. \n\n\n\n\nDOORS: 7.20pm*\n\n\n\nSTART TIME: 8pm*\n\n\n\nRUN TIME: 91 mins\n\n\n\nCERT: 15 (Under 16s must be accompanied by an adult)\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nTickets & More Info

SUMMARY:White Wall Cinema: THE KEEP + THE FOG
DESCRIPTION:LATE NIGHT DOUBLE BILL – BANK HOLIDAY SUNDAY (NO WORK MONDAY!)\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nWhite Wall Cinema’s first ever late night screening we have twinned two supernatural horror classics\, one hard-to-find\, long lost gem by one of cinema’s coolest directors\, and one much loved favourite by a horror master which we will sync up the time and date of the story with the actual time and date of the screening for extra spookiness!\n\n\n\nThe night begins with a super special screening of the long lost recently unearthed 1983 Michael Mann (Miami Vice\, Heat\, Collateral\, Manhunter) film The Keep. Hard to find and rarely screened\, this fabled holy grail of cinema follows a group of Nazi soldiers who occupy a small village in the Carpathian Mountains during World War II\, only to find the fortress they are so keen on setting up camp in wasn’t built to keep them out\, but was actually constructed to keep something evil in!  \n\n\n\nThis will be followed by an all time classic from legendary horror director John Carpenter’s (Halloween\, The Thing\, They Live\, Escape From New York). The Fog is the spooky tale of a small Californian coastal town celebrating it’s centenary which marks not only the 100th anniversary of the town\, but also of a supernatural fog that descended following a mysterious ship wreck in the area. This unearthly fog now returns bringing with it dangerous spectres hell-bent on seeking retribution. \n\n\n\nPlease Note: There will be a short interval between the films but patrons will only be able to enter prior to the start of the first film..  \n\n\n\n*Please note – doors open at 9pm in advance of screening time in order to give patrons extra time to enjoy safely purchase food & drink\, take a look at our archive movie store and to allow gradual entry to your seats in a safe and easy way. SUMMARY:White Wall Cinema: DOGFIGHT
DESCRIPTION:Tickets & More Info\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nNancy Savoca’s criminally underseen 1991 film is an ineffably bittersweet portrait of youth in the 1960s\, starring two of cinema’s brightest and most underserved talents in the late great River Phoenix (Stand By Me\, My Own Private Idaho) and the wonderful Lili Taylor (Mystic Pizza\, Six Feet Under). \n\n\n\nWhen hot headed\, Vietnam-bound marine Eddie Birdlace (River Phoenix)\, brings aspiring San Francisco folk singer Rose (Lili Taylor) as his date to a pre-shipping out to war ‘Dogfight’ party (a cruelly misogynistic party where men compete to bring the most unattractive dates they can find)\, things seem destined for disaster. But what begins as a night to forget unexpectedly develops into something far more meaningful. \n\n\n\nFeaturing music by folk legends Joan Baez\, Bob Dylan\, and Pete Seeger\, Dogfight captures the miracle of human connection whilst gently prodding at notions of societal roles and the assumptions we make about others\, all played out between two vividly drawn and beautifully acted characters (critics have argued Taylor more than deserved an Oscar nomination here). The film also gracefully subverts ideas surrounding machismo\, patriotic duty\, and the very meaning of America itself. \n\n\n\nFinally seeing a renaissance in recent years Nancy Savoca’s Dogfight is a forgotten gem that deserves its new status as an undiscovered classic\, that\, whilst imbued with a light touch by its director\, will non the less stay with you long after the credits roll. \n\n\n\n\nDOORS: 6.40pm*\n\n\n\nSTART TIME: 7.10pm*\n\n\n\nRUN TIME: 93 mins\n\n\n\nCERT: 15 (under 16s must be accompanied by an adult)

SUMMARY:White Wall Cinema: RETURN TO OZ
DESCRIPTION:Tickets & More Info\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nThis wonderfully creepy kids classic still lives rent free in the minds of all who saw it in their youth. Forget Arianna Grande\, this is the ONLY truly WICKED adaptation of L. Frank Baum’s Oz novels.\n\n\n\nWhen the mother (Piper Laurie of Twin Peaks fame) of the young Dorothy Gale (played by the one and only Fairuza Balk from The Craft) fears her daughter is too disturbed by her memories/visions of the imaginary world of Oz\, she takes her for psychological experimentation. Dorothy manages to escape to Oz\, only find a vain witch and evil king have turned the yellow brick road to rubble\, and left the Emerald City a pile of ruins. Determined to save the day she\, with the help of some new friends like Billina\, Tik-Tok\, Jack Pumkinhead and The Gump\, heads off to rescue her old friends the scarecrow\, the tin man and the lion. \n\n\n\nGiven the awesome reputation of the original Wizard Of Oz film\, spin-off adaptations were inevitable\, but from The Wiz to Wicked no other Oz movie will ever quite achieve the cult status of this bizarre\, brilliant and often dazzling creation that all adds up to the most wonderfully unexpected sequel to the 1939 MGM classic. Ingenious production design and irresistible nightmarish special effects combine to create a fantastic voyage that is burned into the psyche of every 80s kid and still stands today as a joyously creative and stylish take on the world over the rainbow.  \n\n\n\n\nDOORS: 7.20pm*\n\n\n\nSTART TIME: 7.50pm*\n\n\n\nRUN TIME: 113 mins\n\n\n\nCERT: PG (Under 16’s must be accompanied by an adult).

SUMMARY:White Wall Cinema: INLAND EMPIRE
DESCRIPTION: DAVID LYNCH’S – 4K REMASTER \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nTickets & More Info\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nWith the sad passing of a true icon of cinema in David Lynch\, we screen the final feature film of his illustrious career in the shape of this special 4K remaster presentation of the infamous Inland Empire. The final ‘ultimate’ puzzle of a career made out of cinematic puzzles\, this 2006 experimental psychological thriller represents the natural progression and final landing point of the much discussed Lynchian style. Inland Empire is the direct successor to the likes of Blue Velvet\, Wild At Heart\, Twin Peaks\, Lost Highway and perhaps most crucially Mulholland Drive.\n\n\n\nA crucial artefact of the early digital filmmaking era\, Lynch is as innovative as ever in this wild tale of a Hollywood actress (a mighty performance by Laura Dern) who begins to take on the personality traits of a character she is playing in a supposedly cursed film production. Largely financed by Lynch himself\, started without a finished screenplay and developed (as was Lynch’s preference) on a scene by scene basis\, the film is famously shot by Lynch himself entirely on a handheld Sony camcorder. If Lynch was known for his pre-occupation with the relationship between cinema and dreams then Inland Empire is the closest we will ever come to having a live feed from inside David Lynch’s head on the screen. \n\n\n\nThe final and most undiluted statement by one of cinemas great heroes Inland Empire is a full circle moment and easily his most personal film since 1977’s Eraserhead and an extraordinary document of Lynch’s boundless imagination. Once again joining with regular collaborators like Dern (Blue Velvet / Wild At Heart) as well Justin Theroux (Mulholland Drive)\, Harry Dean Stanton (Wild At Heart) & Grace Zabriskie (Twin Peaks) David also brings in the likes of Jeremy Irons and Julia Ormond plus a collection of star cameos. Uncompromising and masterful\, Inland Empire is a deep\, seductive\, troubling and confrontational whirlwind of a film that will confound and beguile you throughout.  \n\n\n\n\nDOORS: 5.40pm*\n\n\n\nSTART TIME: 6.10pm*\n\n\n\nRUN TIME: 180 mins\n\n\n\nCERT: 12 (Under 16s must be accompanied by an adult)

SUMMARY:White Wall Cinema: INSIDE LLEWYN DAVIS + ANOTHER DAY ANOTHER TIME
DESCRIPTION:  GREENWICH VILLAGE DOUBLE BILL \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nNow that Timothée Chalamet has done us all the service of bringing Bob Dylan’s Greenwich Village back into the cultural conversation we finally have an excuse to screen the greatest piece of film about said 1960s folk cultural hotbed in the shape of one of the finest Coen Brothers films (Fargo\, Big Lebowski\, O Brother\, Where Art Thou?\, No Country for Old Men\, Burn After Reading\, True Grit etc) the glorious Inside Llewyn Davis starring Oscar Isaac & Carey Mulligan.\n\n\n\nNot only that but the evening will continue with the screening of a very special companion piece film ‘Another Day\, Another Time’ celebrating the folk music explosion in early 60s New York featuring a who’s who of musicians (Joan Baez\, Marcus Mumford\, Punch Brothers\, Patti Smith\, Gillian Welch\, Jack White & more) all captured giving sublime stage performances of music from the era\, on a truly glorious evening at New York Town Hall. \n\n\n\nConsidered one of the finest Coen Brothers films and regularly named amongst the top entries in ‘best films of the 21st century’ lists\, Inside Llewyn Davis is an undoubted masterpiece of melancholic comedy that follows ‘a complete unknown’ folk singer called Llewyn Davis (Oscar Isaac)\, struggling to keep his personal life in order (chiefly his relationship with married folk singer Jean – Carrie Mulligan\, and his friend’s ginger cat) whilst also attempting to become a success on the early 60s folk scene. Exceptionally witty\, beautifully photographed\, with an exceptional supporting cast this is the Coen Brothers at the absolute peak of their powers. \n\n\n\nThe accompanying concert film is an equally remarkable document of some of the most uplifting and affectingly brilliant folk music performances ever recorded and is a truly joyous concert film produced by the genius behind so many Coen Bros film soundtracks\, the fifteen time Grammy Award winner T. Bone Burnett.  \n\n\n\n\nDOORS: 6.40pm*\n\n\n\nSTART TIME: 7.10pm*\n\n\n\nRUN TIME: 105 mins + 101 mins\n\n\n\nCERT: 15 (Under 16’s must be accompanied by an adult)\n\n\n\n\n\nTICKETS & MORE INFO\n\n\n\n\n\n\nPlease Note: There will be a short interval between the films but patrons will only be able to enter prior to the start of the first film.

DESCRIPTION: AKA – REVOIR PARIS \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nTickets & More Info\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nAcclaimed director Alice Wincour (Disorder / Proxima) brings us this tale of remarkable power about Mia (Virginie Efira) a 40 something Parisian who after being caught up in a horrific gunman attack in a bistro attempts to piece back together her life and come to terms with the extreme shock of the event. Desperate to make sense of it all and for some semblance of normality\, Mia finds herself returning to the scene of the incident and forming bonds with fellow survivors in order to work through the mental puzzle of recovery.\n\n\n\nA devastatingly tender portrait of trauma the film is a remarkable cinematic study of memory and the colliding of the emotional and analytical mind in the most difficult of circumstances. Featuring an astonishingly measured central performance from the brilliant Virginie Efira (Elle / Benedetta) who unearths hope\, humanity and courage against the backdrop of a vividly captured city of light. This is a moving and exceptionally crafted film from director Alice Winocour\, who is fast becoming one of cinema’s key voices. \n\n\n\n\nDOORS: 7pm*\n\n\n\nSTART TIME: 7.30pm*\n\n\n\nRUN TIME: 105 mins\n\n\n\nLANGUAGE: French w English Subtitles \n\n\n\nCERT: 15 (Under 16’s must be accompanied by an adult)\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n*This screening will be followed by an optional and informal post film discussion group.*

SUMMARY:White Wall Cinema: DUNE
DESCRIPTION: DAVID LYNCH’S (1984) – 4K REMASTER \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nTickets & More Info\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nWith the sad passing of a true icon of cinema in David Lynch\, this previously scheduled screening now becomes an unintended tribute to one of the great directors of all time. Despite being Lynch’s second most successful film at the box office (his highest earner was The Elephant Man) 1984’s Dune was seen as a box office bomb and remains (easily) one of Lynch’s most underappreciated works and is still (incredibly given his back catalogue) one of his most misunderstood. \n\n\n\nBuilt for the big screen Dune is a masterpiece of epic and eccentric gothic production design\, a true feast for the eyes\, with even the less well aged special effects oozing (sometimes literally) charm.  It also features an out of this world all-star cast that ranges from Twin Peaks cast members like Kyle MacLachlan\, Everett McGill\, and Jack Nance\, as well as Blue Velvet cast like Dean Stockwell and Brad Dourif mixed in with a stunning array of talent that includes Bergman regular Max Von Sydow\, Blade Runner’s Sean Young\, and Das Boot’s Jürgen Prochnow. Hell\, even Sting turns up (in some outrageously small and weird leather underpants) all offering some of the most wonderfully memorable and ‘Lynchian’ line readings in cinema history. \n\n\n\nDespite the film’s initial reception\, in 2025\, Dune’s concoction of sights and sounds\, all capped with an epic soundtrack from Brian Eno and Toto\, remains an undeniably mesmerising experience that shows one of cinema’s true iconoclasts attempting and perhaps ‘failing’ to redefine the blockbuster Sci Fi movie. Oh but what beauty there is in the failing\, Dune is a swirling dream of a movie that thrills\, confounds\, entertains and catches the viewer repeatedly off-guard. We urge you to see or re-visit this fascinating\, beguiling ride that we think contains a true epic masterpiece lurking just below the surface like a giant Sandworm in the deserts of Arrakis. Come celebrate this legend of cinema in all his eccentricity let loose with $40 million dollars ($121 million in today’s money) with this special 4K restoration screening on Saturday March 1st.  \n\n\n\n\nDOORS: 6.30pm*\n\n\n\nSTART TIME: 7pm*\n\n\n\nRUN TIME: 137 mins\n\n\n\nCERT: 12 (Under 16s must be accompanied by an adult)

SUMMARY:White Wall Cinema: THELMA
DESCRIPTION:Tickets & More Info\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nMission Impossible on mobility scooters\, the fabulous 93 year old June Squibb takes on her FIRST EVER lead role in the history of her remarkable 70 year career (and is about to have her second ever lead role in the first film directed by Scarlett Johansson). A remarkable treasure of the movie industry\, Squibb plays the equally remarkable Thelma\, a grandmother who falls foul of a con artist and loses $10\,000 dollars. Not willing to stand idly by\, she instead plans to take action by sitting quite comfortably on a mobility scooter and hurtling towards danger to try and recover the money.\n\n\n\nA fantastically funny and remarkably poignant film\, former Oscar nominee Squibb stars alongside Fred Hechinger (Eighth Grade\, The White Lotus\, Gladiator II\, Nickel Boys)\, Clark Gragg (The Avengers)\, Parker Posey (Best In Show\, Beau Is Afraid)\, Malcolm McDowell (If….\, A Clockwork Orange) and the recently departed legendary Richard Roundtree (best remembered for his role as Shaft in the era defining 70s Blaxploitation film of the same name)\, in his final role. \n\n\n\nA beautiful tribute to the director’s own grandmother\, this nonagenarian action movie is a one of kind gem that earns every point of its 98% Rotten Tomatoes score. Infectiously funny\, surprisingly affecting and quite unlike anything you have ever seen before.  \n\n\n\n\nDOORS: 7.10pm*\n\n\n\nSTART TIME: 7.40pm*\n\n\n\nRUN TIME: 98 mins\n\n\n\nCERT: 12 (Under 16s must be accompanied by an adult)
