SUMMARY:Identity Theatre Company: THE WELKIN
DESCRIPTION:Doors: 6.30pm\n\n\n\nAct 1: 7.00pm\n\n\n\nInterval: 20mins\n\n\n\nAct 2 end: Approx 10pm\n\n\n\n\n\n\n“She has been sentenced by men pretending to be certain of things of which they are entirely ignorant.” \n\n\n\n1759 – The country waits for Halley’s Comet. \n\n\n\nIn rural Suffolk\, Sally Poppy is sentenced to hang for a heinous murder. When she claims to be pregnant\, a jury of twelve matrons are taken from their housework to decide whether she’s telling the truth\, or simply trying to escape the noose. With only midwife Lizzy Luke prepared to defend the girl\, and a mob baying for blood outside\, the matrons wrestle with their new authority and the devil in their midst. \n\n\n\nA bold\, powerful and unflinching play that asks how far have we really come? It’s funny\, it’s bizarre and most importantly it is a necessary reminder that we really have not come that far since the 18th century. \n\n\n\nThe Welkin contains adult themes and language. \n\n\n\nTickets

SUMMARY:Fringe 2023: The Choir with No Name
DESCRIPTION:All Together Now! \n\n\n\nAs choirs emerged out of Covid lockdown\, St. Paul’s Church opened their doors to Brighton’s Choir With No Name\, a choir for people with lived experience of homelessness and marginalisation. Working together through restrictions and guidelines the church and CWNN made sure people’s voices could be heard once again. This Fringe we reunite to celebrate the joy of community and togetherness through the power of uplifting pop. Part gig\, part workshop\, this family-friendly concert is a joint production between CWNN and The Friends of St. Paul’s in a fundraising enterprise to support the continued work of the choir as well as keeping one of the oldest churches in Brighton safe for future generations to enjoy. Come sing\, celebrate and sip tea (and cake!) – what better way to spend a Sunday afternoon?  \n\n\n\n\nDoors / Garden Open: 2.15pm\n\n\n\nConcert: 3pm-4pm\n\n\n\nGarden Close: 5pm\n\n\n\n\nTickets

We are delighted to present a brand new\, typically Shakespearean tale of lust\, murder\, magic\, vegan rock buns and entirely implausible cases of mistaken identity…  \n\n\n\nJoin us as we crush the crested codpiece of a cultural icon – and find answers to the questions that have eluded the experts for centuries such as…  \n\n\n\n\nDo ALDI offer two-for-one on Eye of Newt? \n\n\n\nShould Romeo & Juliet have both swiped left? \n\n\n\nWas poor Yorrick REALLY a lass? \n\n\n\nHow many Health & Safety Regulations did Puck breach? \n\n\n\n\nThe Lezzwood Players have been startling audiences in and around Brighton since 2012 with their sensational saucy satires of well-worn theatrical genres. \n\n\n\nMore about us at www.lezzwood.co.uk. For latest news\, follow us on Facebook \n\n\n\nNOTE: Adult Themes – Age Advisory 16+ \n\n\n\nBuy Tickets
