SUMMARY:Fringe - Gaps in the Light by Lîla Dance
DESCRIPTION:Wednesday 1st June;  Gaps in the Light by Lîla Dance \n\n\n\nAdd to wishlistShare: Audience Choice Award. Vote for eventAge suitability: 11 +Personal Assistant TicketsLanguage No ProblemIn PersonWorld PremiereA Night of Screen Dance featuring the premier of Lila Dance’s new film ‘Gaps in the Light’\, stunning duet ‘a part’ featuring leading wheelchair dancers Susie Birchwood (Candoco) and Laura Jones (Stopgap) plus a new film from Morvell Dance ‘Moving Portraits’ and other screen dance treats! \n\n\n\nGaps in the Light: Jon\, Claire\, Mikey and Lucca are friends but do they really know each other? Stuck together\, they close the door on their house for the last time; their lives interweave; small spaces become sanctuaries\, cells\, stages\, studios\, gyms and ballrooms. \n\n\n\nWhen you go from sharing caramel biscuits to sharing your innermost fantasies and worries something has to change or something within us changes? \n\n\n\nWhen the walls are crushing in and you can hear your neighbours secrets but you can’t join the party or leave\, what’s your escape plan? Become someone new\, transform your life and walk out into a brand new beginning. \n\n\n\nGaps in the Light is a portrait of 4 people removed from their world\, their life and left entirely to their own devices. Made from verbatim interviews. A light and amusing take on life that we all recognise. \n\n\n\na part: a work that celebrates the art of wheelchair dancing. The intricate choreography with a backdrop of graffiti art is driven by the catchy rhythmic structures of original score. With a nod to female pop video icons such as Brittany and Beyoncé; sharp shooting\, fast-paced editing invites you to think differently and celebrate new female icons \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nTickets from Brighton Fringe

SUMMARY:The Lezzwood Players proudly present: Comedy of Lezzers or Much Ado About Muffin...or As You Dyke It
DESCRIPTION: Yes\, – the Lezzwood Players are BACK!  \n\n\n\nAs the nation celebrates 25 years since the historic reopening of the Shakespeare’s Globe theatre\, who better to troll His Royal Bard-ness than Brighton’s very own purveyors of sapphic slapstick\, the Lezzwood Players?! We are delighted to present a brand new\, typically Shakespearean tale of lust\, murder\, magic\, vegan rock buns and entirely implausible cases of mistaken identity…  \n\n\n\nJoin us as we crush the crested codpiece of a cultural icon – and find answers to the questions that have eluded the experts for centuries such as…  \n\n\n\n\nDo ALDI offer two-for-one on Eye of Newt? \n\n\n\nShould Romeo & Juliet have both swiped left? \n\n\n\nWas poor Yorrick REALLY a lass? \n\n\n\nHow many Health & Safety Regulations did Puck breach? \n\n\n\n\nThe Lezzwood Players have been startling audiences in and around Brighton since 2012 with their sensational saucy satires of well-worn theatrical genres. \n\n\n\nMore about us at www.lezzwood.co.uk. For latest news\, follow us on Facebook \n\n\n\nBuy Tickets

SUMMARY:White Wall Cinema Presents - KLUTE
DESCRIPTION:A landmark in feminist cinema Klute is a thriller from All The President’s Men / Sophie’s Choice director Alan J. Pakula that features a groundbreaking and deeply intelligent central performance from Jane Fonda in what is easily the best role which earned her a Best Actress Oscar win. Alongside the ever great Donald Sutherland\, Fonda plays high priced call girl Bree Daniels who assists Detective John Klute (Sutherland) in a missing persons case that clearly endangers her own life. Part of the great movement of American 70s paranoia thrillers\, the movie is stolen by Fonda’s exceptional deep understanding of her character’s psyche as a call girl struggling to understand her life and motivations. A gripping performance that handily avoids cliche and fascinates throughout Fonda grabs the opportunity to upend lazy assumptions about female sex workers and create a fully formed multi layered character. A brilliantly atmospheric film worth seeing not only for it’s sensational take on the mood of Watergate era America but chiefly for its utterly heroic powerhouse performance by Fonda that will linger in your mind for many years to come \n\n\n\nhttps://www.wegottickets.com/sct/3gRuHgM3bW \n\n\n\n\n\nDOORS: 7.40pm* \n\n\n\nSTART TIME: 8.10pm \n\n\n\nRUN TIME: 114 mins approx \n\n\n\nCERT: 15 \n\n\n\nLOCATION: Wagner Hall (Regency Road\, Brighton)

SUMMARY:White Wall Cinema Presents - SOLARIS
DESCRIPTION:Part of a long tradition of existential sci fi movies that includes the likes of Moon\, 2001: A Space Odyssey\, Blade Runner\, Ad Astra\, Silent Running and Eternal Sunshine of The Spotless Mind. This underappreciated 2002 remake of Tarkovsky’s 70s sci fi classic is celebrating its 20th anniversary and is ripe for reappraisal. Helmed by noted director Steven Soderbergh (Sex Lies & Videotape\, Out Of Sight\, Traffic\, Oceans 11\, Contagion\, Logan Lucky) and produced by super director James Cameron (Terminator\, Aliens) it’s an elegant and streamlined approach to Stanisław Lem’s novel that tackles themes of loss\, identity\, and reality at the edge of the universe when recently bereaved psychologist Kris Kelvin (George Clooney) is sent to investigate strange goings on at a remote space station. Also starring Natasha McElhorne and Viola Davis don’t miss this  thought provoking\, tense\, mesmerising\, mysterious\, visually breath taking film on the big screen \n\n\n\nhttps://www.wegottickets.com/sct/pBXQjzD7KP \n\n\n\n\n\nDOORS: 7.50pm* \n\n\n\nSTART TIME: 8.30pm \n\n\n\nRUN TIME: 98 mins approx \n\n\n\nCERT: 18 \n\n\n\nLOCATION: Wagner Hall (Regency Road\, Brighton)
